Shared bills. Separate lives.

One account for the things you pay for together, and no visibility into each other's personal spending. Both of you can open it, and either of you can close it.

Work out who owes what, once.

Set a monthly contribution each, either equal or in proportion to what you earn, and it moves across on the day you choose.

  • Fixed amounts or a share of the bills
  • A reminder if one contribution has not landed
  • A running total of who has put in what this year

Joint does not mean open book.

Your personal account stays yours. The joint account shows both of you the same thing, and nothing else is shared between you.

  • No view into each other's personal spending
  • Either holder can freeze the joint card instantly
  • Closure needs only one of you to start it

What couples ask us most.

  • Yes. Both of you need your own Caixa de Crédito current account, then either of you can invite the other to open a joint account. It takes about two minutes from there.

  • Both of you see everything in the joint account, and neither of you sees the other's personal account. Nothing moves between the two without the account holder approving it.

  • Either of you can start the closure in online banking. We split the remaining balance the way you agree, move any direct debits you nominate, and confirm in writing to both of you.

  • Opening a joint account creates a financial association between you, which lenders can see. In Portugal the record they consult is the Central de Responsabilidades de Crédito at Banco de Portugal, and the association stays until the account is closed.

Open a joint account in two minutes.

You both need a Caixa de Crédito current account first. After that, one invite and you are done.
